Purpose of this Policy
The State of California requires businesses to provide a warning to consumers when a product contains a chemical on the Proposition 65 list (formally known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) if exposure to that chemical exceeds a specified safe harbor level.
Proposition 65 is a "right-to-know" law, not a product safety law. The warning does not mean that a product is unsafe. It simply means that the product may contain a listed chemical, and the business is informing California consumers of its presence.

At T.Eddy's Art Studio, we are dedicated to informing our customers about potential chemical exposures in our products.
Our products—particularly those categorized as Wearable Art (shoes, shirts, jackets, etc.) and printed items—may contain trace amounts of chemicals listed in Proposition 65, primarily due to the dyes, inks, print transfers, and base materials (like textiles, canvas, or plastic components) used in the manufacturing process.

• If you are using a Print on Demand (POD) dropshipper (like Printful or Printify):
• Check your POD provider's documentation or FAQ section. They usually list which products require a Prop 65 warning and which specific chemicals (e.g., Formaldehyde, Lead, or Phthalates) are present.
• Action: If your POD partner provides a specific warning for an item (like certain hats or phone cases), use their recommended warning text for that specific product description on your Squarespace site.
• If you are purchasing materials yourself (canvas, paints, etc.):
• Check the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) or labels of your art supplies. Common chemicals in art and apparel include: heavy metals (like Cadmium or Lead in certain pigments), Formaldehyde (in wrinkle-resistant fabrics or inks), or Phthalates (in certain plastics or vinyl prints).
• Action: If you cannot confirm an item is below the safe harbor level, you must issue a warning.
If you cannot determine the single, most relevant chemical, the safest approach for general merchandise is often to state:
